Who we are

Jonathan Tootell

Has twenty-five years experience in bookselling. After working in theatre Jonathan opened the Hollywood Road Bookshop in Chelsea in 1982. He joined Waterstones in 1987 and set up the Out of Print Booksearch department in 1988, leaving to start Pimpernel In 1997. Founded Gardener & Cook in 2005 with Simon Cobley to specialise in Rare, Second-hand and Out-Of-Print Cookery and Gardening Books (www.gardenerandcook.com).

Sarah Rodrigues

Sarah Rodrigues emigrated from the U.S. after finishing her BA in English Literature and History of Art. After coming to the UK, she completed an MA in Children's Literature, writing her dissertation on Frankenstein picturebooks.

Charlotte Ellis

Trained as a Stage Manager at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School before deciding that a career in the book world would be preferable. Has four years experience in bookselling and over twenty years experience of book reading. Has worked in Waterstone’s and the Lion and Unicorn Children’s Bookshop in Richmond, Surrey. Charlotte is the one with the English accent.
